‘The Seasons of the Black Country, in pictures’
I have taken pictures throughout the year in the Black Country, but up until now I have never compared the changes the seasons make on it’s scenery. So take a look at my photo gallery of what the seasons in the Black Country have to offer and on this blog I can write faggots as much as I like.
December to March – Winter 2012 / 2013
As the days shorten, the nights draw in. The weather gets colder, Christmas arrives also a Religious time for some. Water freezes, Ice forms and icicles appear. Usually around this time of year snow tends to fall. In Winter 2013 it kept on falling, in fact early spring had some too. Things seem well and truly dead, but during Winter we also see the start of the new year which means spring is around the corner. In the winter pictures below you will see how the sky tends to contrast with the ground below, especially when it’s snowing. Usually Red and Green colours tend to stand out more against the white and black back drop.

March to June – Spring 2013
After the darkness of winter, known as the death season to some. Spring arrives, new life and a beaming light appears as the days start to get longer. Trees blossom, Blue Bells, Daffodils, and Tulips grow out into the sun. Birds sing, Birds nest, and new chicks arrive. Spring also brings new born lambs, Easter Eggs and a very Religious period. During spring, violet, yellow, light green, purple and light blue tend to stand out more.

June to September – Summer 2013
Now the Sun is at it’s peak, all around the Black Country tends to beam, trees stand proud, flowers open out which in return attracts bees and butterfly’s. Even the dullest places are seen in a more positive light. In Summer the colours are usually very bright and vibrant. Lush Greens, Vibrant Yellow, a deeper Blue, Turquoise and Rose red are the colours of Summer.

September to December 2013 – Autumn 2013
Halloween, Diwali, Bonfire and Fireworks. Autumn is a colourful time of year, as the leaves start to change colour, they begin to die and fall off. There is this air of sadness because winter draws near and the nights draw in. Still it is fun to hear all those leaves crunching and there are conkers to be found. Autumn Colours of Orange, Brown, Yellow, Dark Green, and a darker blue, and a shadowy black colour can be seen in these pictures
